The Paper Palace

Craftisan Featurette

Artist and teacher Haley Newman has been making art out of paper and wood for a little over two years now. The Paper Palace, her delicate side hustle, flourished out of disappointment, when some wooden florals she purchased online for her own wedding fell short. “I was not too happy with the quality and we were one wooden boutonniere short for our groomsmen, so my husband and I gave creating them ourselves a try,” she said. From here, a passion was born.

Haley’s offerings now include home decor, earrings, vintage furniture rental, printed bridal and baby shower games, and more, in addition to her wooden floral offerings, including bouquets, garlands, boutonnieres, corsages, and hair pins. Her arrangements are available for weddings, events, holidays, and she even does custom orders.

Born in Boston, MA, but raised and still residing in Lockport, NY, Haley is a high school ELA teacher and lives with her husband and their newest little addition, one-year-old Rosalie (who can often be seen ‘helping’ mom at the market).

“As a hopeless romantic and a ‘sap’ for a good story, I love being a part of so many weddings and love stories!,” Haley said. “The English teacher in me loves the wooden floral medium and  that they are the perfect symbol for an everlasting love because they won’t wilt or dye like traditional flowers!”

As a hopeless romantic and a ‘sap’ for a good story, I love being a part of so many weddings and love stories.

Find Haley at her online store (an event inquiry form can be found here as well), IG, or reach out with a custom order request through text (716) 796-1300 and email (paperpalace716@gmail.com). Look for her at this year’s holiday markets, as well!
